This study explores the idea of citizenship and shared identity in different versions of citizenship textbooks at the university level in Indonesia. Recent studies identify the shift in the policy and the dominant ideology presented by the national curricula rendering citizenship education. Based on two different versions of citizenship textbooks, this study argues that the textbooks embrace more than one dominant ideology in the content of the textbooks.
