There is an inspiring global shift towards recognizing the importance of indigenous education. Indigenous ways of knowing, learning, instructing, teaching, and research are essential in ensuring that both instructors and learners, whether indigenous or non-indigenous, benefit from education in a culturally-responsive manner. To celebrate the University of Pittsburgh's Year of Diversity, many departments across campus and in our community are joining together to host an Indigenous Education Symposium. All students, faculty members, and other interested learners are encouraged to join.
