In Serbia, a group of gay activists’ attempt to organize a gay pride parade spearheaded by Radmilo and Mirko – a young, successful gay couple living in Belgrade who are victims of daily persecution and abuse. “Lemon,” a homophobic middle-aged Serbian veteran of the Yugoslav Wars, and his fiancée “Pearl” are drawn into parade planning via their relationship with Mirko, their wedding planner. After local police refuse to provide security, Lemon and Radmilo undertake a road-trip through the Balkans to recruit a security entourage. They end up with a rag-tag team of ex-veterans, former enemies who now come together to support friends. The film was conceived following the 2001 violence at an attempted gay pride parade in Belgrade. It deals with LGBT and human rights issues in post-conflict Yugoslavia. (2011; comedy-drama; Serbian with English subtitles)
