In this lecture to CCBC Prof. Sarah Sudar's English Lit class, the history of Taiwan and modern Taiwan will be discussed to help contextualize the YA novel, "Want" by Cindy Pon. Curriculum strategies will also be offered for students and professor.

Using the game Barnga, we will present a hands on session focused on cultural sensitivity, awareness and competence. This is an active session, creating empathy and helping develop a sensitivity to diverse people, thinking, and cultures.
