A Digital Portfolio (ePortfolio) is required for all students completing area or global studies certificates. The ePortfolio will help you synthesize your experiences inside and outside the classroom to demonstrate your understanding of world regions and global issues. You will also learn how to use the ePortfolio in future job and graduate school applications!

The Governor’s School for Global and International Studies provides high-school sophomores and juniors with the tools to understand these changes through a four-week residential program on the University of Pittsburgh’s main campus. Students learn to think globally, develop their oral and written communication skills, and study critical languages with distinguished faculty and guests and a diverse group of students from across the state. The program’s unique curriculum and residential environment encourage students to engage with the world in a fun, intense, and immersive way.
Celebration of cultures through crafts and food from various regions and cultures throughout the world. This festival will have 6 different rooms where children and their families, who are given "passports" when they arrive, visit to experience food and culture from the following regions: African countries; East Asian countries; South Asian countries; Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries; North, South, and Central American countries; European countries.
University of Pittsburgh Palestinian Film Series featuring : "Infiltrators" by Khaled Jarrar and "Your Father was born 100 years old, and so was the Nakba" by Razan Al-Salah.
The films will be followed by a short panel led by Professor Mohamed Bamyeh & Professor Omid Shekari.
