Students will be introduced to the history and primary policy areas of the United States's relationship with Europe, while participating in site visits to think tanks and government organizations in both Washington, DC and Brussels, Belgium. Site visits will include the US Department of State, the European Parliament, the US Dept of Defense, and NATO.

Explore "Climate Change in Copenhagen," a multidisciplinary simulation that combines social studies and STEM with a global focus, to provide educators with strategies and resources for hands-on classroom learning. Educators will discover new approaches to using classroom simulations and receive resources to aid in their adoption.

Global conflicts, climate change, and unequal development challenge both societal and personal resilience by causing displacement, restricting resources, and counteracting efforts for a renewable world. Whether in urban or rural areas, people across the world grapple with creating sustainable livelihoods, ecosystems, social infrastructures, and economies. If resilience can be defined as the competence to reduce precarity during a crisis and build a more thriving society after, how can we best encourage students to learn about and become agents for global resilience?

Have you ever wondered where those beautiful scenes come from on the big screen in the Global Hub? Wanted to see more Pitt students in them?

Sodikoff is a cultural anthropologist interested in the political economy of biodiversity loss, conservation, and restoration with extensive research on labor and rain forest conservation in Madagascar. Her book , Forest and Labor in Madagascar: From Colonial Concession to Global Biosphere (Indiana University Press, 2012), is an anthropological-historical account of the role of subaltern labor in forest conservation and ecotourism efforts. She is currently examining the problem of land degradation and zoonosis, disease that spills over from animal species to humans.
