Prof. Nancy Condee Appointed Gaidar Fellow

Professor Nancy Condee has been appointed a Fall 2015 Gaidar Fellow at Moscow’s Presidential Academy of the National Economy in the School of Public Policy’s  Center for Russian Studies.   Prof. Condee is director of the Global Studies Center (currently on sabbatical until January 1, 2015) and professor in the Slavic Languages and Literatures department where she is a scholar of contemporary Russian culture, cinema, and cultural politics.  During the Fellowship, Prof. Condee will conduct research and give lectures in the Masters Program in Global Public Policy in Moscow for two weeks in late October/early November 2015.  The Presidential Academy (referred to as RANEPA) is Russia’s largest federal institution of professional education.  The Gaidar Fellows Program supports foreign scholars with opportunities to conduct research and speak in public lectures and seminars.  Previous Gaidar Fellows have included such international scholars as Timothy Dyson (London School of Economics), Laura Solanko (Institute for Economies in Transition), Loren Graham (MIT), Timothy Colton (Harvard), and Angela Stent (Georgetown).
