The soprano, Liliana Vassileva, was born 20 July 1921 in Pazardgik. She graduated from the State Academy of Music as a student of Christo Brambarov.
In 1947 she joined the Varna Opera where she made her debut in that year singing in the Bartered Bride. From 1948 on she guest appeared at the Sofia National Opera in addition to other opera houses in Bulgaria. In 1953, 1955, 1959 and 1960 she sang in Russia. Other international appearances were in Roumania and Poland. After 1955 she became a regular soloist with the Sofia National Opera.
Included in her repertoire were the roles of Mimi, Marguerite, Nedda, Micaela, Violetta, Gilda, Liu, Blondchen and Donna Elvira.
