Based on several years of ethnographic and policy research in China, Brazil, and the United States, this talk connects the dots between the changing character of global resource geopolitics, Brazil-China relations, and territorial struggles in primary mining sites in the frontier regions of both countries. Dr. Klinger’s multi-scaled research illuminates the key roles of these two complex and emerging economies in contemporary international affairs.

Xyza Cruz Bacani was born in the Philippines. As a domestic worker in Hong Kong, Xyza began taking photographs in her spare time. It became her passion both for the therapeutic effect it had on her and because it awakened an innate drive for self expression.

CHINA Town Hall is a national day of programming on China involving 70 cities throughout the United States. This year, Dr. Henry A. Kissinger, former Secretary of State, will speak on a live national webcast at 7:00 p.m., followed by a local, in-person appearance Allen Barber, Chief Operating Officer, U.S.-China Cooperative Association of Elected Local Officials.
