Midwest Model EU 2022

Every April, more than 160 college and university students meet to decide the future of the European Union (EU). Playing the roles of prime ministers and presidents, ambassadors and commissioners, ministers and diplomats, they spend three days debating policy, resolving disputes, building compromises, and charting the course of European integration. The Midwest Model European Union (MMEU) is one of only a half dozen events of its kind in the United States and is the second oldest intercollegiate simulation of the EU in North America.

2022 West Coast Model EU

The West Coast Model European Union is an annual simulation of a European Council summit, bringing together undergraduate students from across the United States. Students, in teams of two, play the roles of representatives of European Union Member State delegations, and also the European Commission. Participants negotiate two issues of concern for the country holding the Presidency, France (holding the presidency from January-June). Organized by the University of Washington's Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, the 2022 West Coast Model European Union will take place on March 4-5, 2022.

22nd Annual Undergraduate Model European Union

The Undergraduate Model European Union is an annual event for undergraduate students. The goal of the Model EU is to give students the opportunity to learn about the workings of the European Union through a hands-on simulation of a meeting of the European Council. Playing the role of presidents and prime ministers, students spend a weekend engaged in intense negotiations over current issues impacting the EU.

Valdis Dombrovskis is the Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People and European Commissioner for Trade. On the heels of the EU-US Technology and Trade Council (TTC) meeting in Pittsburgh on September 29th, Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis will sit down with Pitt Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, Erica Owens, for a conversation about the TTC, transatlantic trade, and the future of the EU-US relationship. Students and faculty are encouraged to participate.
