What is Model African Union?

The MAU is a wonderful educational opportunity for students to study about Africa, learn about the current issues, and assume the role of delegates responsible for debating and resolving those issues of African and global significance. On the day of the conference, students role-play delegates to the African Union and simulated AU committees operating within the framework of the African Union.

In preparation for participation in the conference, students are expected to do research, explore issues assigned to them, understand the interests and positions of African countries, and learn to successfully negotiate without compromising national interests. The goal is to promote the ideals and principals of the African Union and provide students with a platform to discuss various issues that are handled by African leaders at the African Union Summit.

Model African Union this year will be held on Thursday March 23rd, 2017. If you are interested in registering your school  click here, or for more information, contact us here.
