The Euro Challenge is a national competition for cash prizes where 9th and 10th grade high school students test their knowledge and understanding of the European economy and the Euro, the currency shared by many of the 28 countries of the European Union. The European Studies Center is proud to host the Western Pennsylvania regional competition for Euro Challenge at the University of Pittsburgh.
Participation can be in-person or remote. The top team(s) from the regional competition will advance to the national competition in New York City, scheduled for April 28, 2020.

This story takes place in the early 40s during German occupation when three young women and two children await the return of the imprisoned husbands and fathers from Nazi concentration camps. A family friend and doctor watches over the women forced into a family union by the war.
Directed by Julius Ševčík, 2016. Based on the true story of Czech diplomat and politician Jan Masaryk, the son of Czechoslovakia’s founding father Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, and set just before WWII. Jan desperately tries to save his homeland from Nazi occupation. This film was nominated for over 20 awards, including 12 prestigious Czech Lion Awards.
