Model African Union (MAU) is our yearly simulation of the African Union. The goal of MAU is for students to study the role, structure, and activities of the African Union (AU) as well as the capabilities and constraints that shape the policies of AU member states in the arena of the intra-African diplomacy. Through simulation, students learn about African countries and the issues faced and seek solutions together in the style of the AU.

This is a yearly workshop hosted by the Center for African Studies to help K-12 teachers incorporate Africa into their classrooms.

Activist and scholar Dr. Shula Mola, named one of Israel's most influential women in Globes magazine, will discuss the emergence of Black identities in Israel. In particular, she will consider the role played by Ethiopian Jews in developing Israeli perceptions of Blackness. Dr. Mola earned her PhD in Communications from Ben Gurion University of the Negev, and her research focuses on the study of social stratification in Israel.
