The interactive website Centering Taiwan in Global Asia explores the themes of Indigeneity & Early Settlement, Navigation, Trade & Piracy, and Colonization to introduce the rich and contoured history of the island of Taiwan and its role as a nexus for global trade and conquest by outside powers. Developed by a team at the Asian Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh including a NCTA Alumna of the University of Pittsburgh National Coordinating Site, this website fills a gap in curriculum about Taiwan by providing a content-rich and guided, interactive, spatial digital humanities resource for classroom use.

Conversations on Europe connects top experts from around the United States and Europe to discuss contemporary issues facing Europe and the Transatlantic relationship. Using both personal and institutional videoconference technology, panelists take questions and interact with audiences at Pitt and at remote sites in the US and Europe. This resource provides links to video recordings of past Conversations on Europe as well as topics for future discussions.
 
Conversations on Europe can be viewed for your own professional development or adapted for classroom use.

This site is an online resource of materials for teaching about Asia, and a portal where teachers can share teaching materials and their own ratings and reviews of materials. The purpose of this site is to promote collaboration and support for the teaching about East Asia among educators. The site is open to all for viewing and downloading of materials or photos. You will find a database of teaching materials, along with ratings and reviews of those materials, accompanying culture notes, and sample lessons for your use. There is a gallery of photos taken by fellow educators for your use. You can also scroll through study tour blogs, where there are first hand accounts by teachers about their trips to East Asia.

Japan: Places, Images, Times, and Transformations is an online curriculum designed for university instructors and their students, as well as advanced high school classes. The site contains essays on various aspects of Japanese society, history and culture, along with discussion questions and additional reading for each essay. There are links to glossary items in each essay, a large collection of images for viewing, video and audio selections, timelines, and a section on maps.

The National Consortium for Teaching About Asia, funded by the Freeman Foundation, is a multi-year initiative to encourage and facilitate teaching and learning about East Asia in elementary and secondary schools nationwide. NCTA is a premier provider of professional development on East Asia. Poppies, Power, and Profits: A Mini-Course for K-12 Educators was a hybrid, free two-day K-12 mini course exploring the Opium Wars of the 19th century, their causes, and far-reaching consequences, connecting historical events with modern global issues. Through examining the relationship between imperialism, trade, and culture, participants gained insight into how the Opium Wars reshaped international dynamics, especially between China and Western powers, including the emerging empire of the United States. In collaboration with the Global Studies Center and World History Center at the University of Pittsburgh, sessions included presentations, activities and teacher-led strategies for curricular development.
