Although every child deserves an education, there are millions of children that do not have access to quality education across the continent. Most of these children are girls, and most are living in countries in conflict and in rural areas. The impact is devastating with children often forced to work and, in some cases, having to agree to child marriages in order to survive. Dr.

The questions driving research in Quaternary climate, the period of geological time that includes the recent ice ages and interglacial climatic periods, and environmental change are important not only for our understanding of how the Earth System has changed in the past, but also because this time period represents the closest analog for what we will be seeing in the near future.
