Join us for a limited screening of the 2024 oppositional film Master and Margarita, followed by an in-person discussion with the film's director, Mikhail Lockshin.

This free online K-12 educator workshop will explore the topic of migration today through the global lens of politics, economics, and climatic changes. Using modern-day migration case studies, the presenters will share content and pedagogical strategies to help introduce or extend current study of the topic of migration in the classroom. ACT 48 hours will be provided for PA educators as well as resources and materials for classroom use.

Join us at the Cathedral of Learning in Room 332 for the book launch of "Hungarian Roots and American Dreams: Tracing Personal History" with co-editors Réka Bakos and Dr. Anna Fenyvesi. Discover the stories, struggles, and triumphs of individuals who have bridged the gap between their Hungarian heritage and American aspirations. Listen to captivating tales, share your own experiences, and connect with others who are on a similar quest to uncover their family history. This in-person event, hosted by Kati Csoman, Director of the Nationality Rooms & Intercultural Exchange Programs, will also feature authors sharing their personal stories from the book. On October 16-17, scholars and advocates from the Scholars at Risk Network will gather to promote academic freedom locally, in the U.S., and around the world. The 2024 SAR United States General Assembly will provide a forum for us to discuss how we can best protect scholars and defend everyone’s freedom to think, question, and share ideas.
