Who is Eligible?

Full-time faculty.

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

For working on a manuscript publication related to Japan. Preference will be given to 1) single-authored books, 2) followed by co-authored books, and 3) then edited books of essays and translations. In the case of 2) and 3), at least one of the authors, translators or editors must be an eligible member of the University of Pittsburgh faculty. It cannot be used by the author to pay for indexing or any other costs of preparing a manuscript for publication.

Who is Eligible?

Faculty doing research related to any aspect of postWorld War II European Integration.

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

To develop and strengthen faculty expertise on Europe and the states and societies of the European Union. Eligible professional activities include research or collaboration with a colleague, on-site field work or data acquisition, and archival research.

This grant covers air and ground transportation, meals, and lodging expenses for research projects based on a concrete and clearly defined agenda in Japanese studies OR exploratory Japan Studies Research based on welldefined research proposals.

Max Funding

Up to $5,000.00 for one year of research; up to $10,000.00 in any 2-year period.
