Who is Eligible?

Full-time and part-time tenure-stream, tenured and non tenure-stream faculty (including lecturers, adjunct faculty, and contract faculty) at all Schools, Departments, Centers, Institutes and Campuses of the University of Pittsburgh.

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

For non-travel purposes, the Asian Studies Small Grants can now be used by any Asia-focused faculty. But for travel purposes, this grant will only fund research travel to study areas in Asia that are not China, Japan, or Korea.

Who is Eligible?

Five grants of $2,000 are available to full-time faculty members who have been teaching a minimum of one year at the University of Pittsburgh. Three grants of $2,000 will be awarded to part-time faculty members who have been teaching a minimum of three years at the University of Pittsburgh.

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

Full time recipients must return for at least two terms at the University of Pittsburgh upon completion of the study/research abroad.The proposed research must directly relate to a course that the individual is teaching or preparing to teach.

Who is Eligible?

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

Intended to enable faculty members from CERIS institutions to pursue curricular development and enhancement projects related to Islamic Studies. Islamic Studies is understood, as expressed in the CERIS mission statement, to encompass many languages, literatures, and disciplines; and extends from the 7th century to the present, and across broad geographical areas of the world.

The applicant must be a “Core” or “Related” faculty member of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.

Requirements/Intended Use of Funds

(1) “Seed money” or supplementary money for large projects; (2) Limited funds required for smaller projects or projects of short dura-tion; and (3) Research that will result in the development of Latin American/Caribbean courses.

Adding or enhancing the assessment tools utilized to determine the impact of a course related to European studies.
