Starting Tuesday, September 24, there will be events around campus celebrating Africa and the African Diaspora Community leading up to the Celebrate Africa Festival on September 28! Keep checking back to this page for schedule updates.

Saturday, September 28

Celebrate Africa Festival! Featuring the Grand Durbar African Heritage Festival

The Celebrate Africa Festival welcomes live music, local artisans, businesses, the African Diaspora Community, and African food to the University of Pittsburgh. The day will kick-off with a procession from the Cathedral of Learning to Posvar Hall at 10am! See the full vendor list here. Find the full program schedule here!

We are excited to announce the inclusion of the Grand Durbar African Heritage Festival as part of the Celebrate Africa festivities! With special guests including African chiefs & kings, they are celebrating African heritage and will reveal the African ancestry of 10 African American Mayors!
