Certificates in African Studies give students from any and all disciplines documented expertise in a field of area studies. Achieving a certificate gives students a competitive edge when applying for graduate school and when entering the workforce in their desired careers. The University Center for International Studies hosts the International Career Toolkit Series which helps students with resume writing, career planning, graduate school applications, amongst other workshops that help students showcase their certificates and talk about their area studies expertise on paper and in interviews.
