Diana is working as the Graduate Student Assistant for the Center of African Studies. Before joining University of Pittsburgh, she worked with university students in Kenya to build their capacity for effective civic engagement, leadership development and preparing them for the market place. Diana is passionate about development in Africa through good governance. Through her work in civic engagement, she mobilized university students to actively engage in the electoral process in diverse ways including election observation across the country during the 2022 general elections.
Diana is passionate about developing students’ life skills and pointing them to opportunities that grow their passion and interests to reach their full potential, and for them to become change makers especially with their college training. She has been involved in identifying students’ needs, conceptualizing and implementing programs, and developing training curriculums to meet them.
Diana grew up in Kenya and pursued her undergraduate studies in BA Social Work at the University of Nairobi, and a master's in public policy and management from Strathmore University Business School. She is currently pursuing her master's in international development at the University of Pittsburgh.
