Professional Development for Educators

The Asian Studies Center is committed to offering professional development for K-16 educators in a variety of forms: workshops, seminars, certification/development credits, working groups, and other enrichment opportunities.

 

Seminars for K-12 Teachers

The National Consortium for Teaching about Asia offers 30 hour college level seminars to introduce educators about East Asia. To find out the locations of the seminars, please visit NCTA Pittsburgh website.

NCTA alumni are eligible for a variety of summer study tours in East Asia.

School Visits

The center can arrange cultural programs in the classroom in partnership with the Japan American Society of Pennsylvania and the Confucius Institute. Programs can be adapted for the specific needs of the school.
