The Asian Studies Center offers funding for faculty, students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Faculty Grants
The Center offers grants to promote and support faculty research and travel involving Asia, as well as to enhance the teaching of Asia throughout the curriculum. An updated faculty profile and CV, a concrete research agenda, budget, and/or detailed travel plans are required as part of the application process.
Student Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Center offers financial awards to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in an Asian Studies certificate program. The current or prospective student must be enrolled in an approved course of study at the University of Pittsburgh leading to a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree.

Research Conference Grants
The Center provides funding opportunities to support scholarly conferences for graduate students and faculty. Conferences funded by the Center are designed to produce research publications focused on any area of Asia or on an interdisciplinary study of Global Asia. Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Center supports two Global Asia postdoctoral fellowship each year. Fellows are affiliated with the Center, collaborate with faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, and have an opportunity to teach courses in their area of expertise. Applications will be posted when positions are available.
Event and Speaker Funding
