East European Festival

Join us for a celebration of the East European region and experience the festive music, delicious cuisines, and traditional dances of Eastern Europe and its surrounding regions! This event will bring together numerous food vendors, performers, student & academic organizations, and local diaspora organizations.

Program:

12:00 Opening Remarks - Professor Nancy Condee, Director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies

12:15 "The Magic Flower" puppet show written, directed, and performed by the students of the Austrian Puppetry course, taught by Assistant Professor Orin James

1:00 Poetry in Eastern Europe - recited by the students of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and the Less-Commonly-Taught Languages Center

1:30 Bulgarian Dances - performed by the students of the Bulgarian School Otets Paissii, Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center

1:50 Closing Remarks - Kati Csoman, Director of Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs
