Outreach

As a National Resource Center for Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies, REEES's Outreach Program plays a pivotal role in sharing information and expertise on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia with educators both at the college/university level, and kindergarten through secondary (K-12) level, as well as the professional communities and general public. Outreach programs are offered throughout the year. These include but are not limited to: teachers' professional development workshops, study abroad opportunities, faculty development seminars, curriculum development projects, school visit programs, free educational resources, lecture and film series, arts and entertainment, and REEES newsletters. If you wish to stay up-to-date with REEES events and outreach programs, subscribe to our weekly updates.

Learn more about UCIS Outreach initiatives and programming, which is comprised of specialists in K-16 global and international programming from each of the seven academic centers and other units at Pitt’s University Center for International Studies: Asian Studies Center (including the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia), Center for African StudiesCenter for Ethnic Studies Research, Center for Latin American Studies, Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, Consortium for Educational Resources on Islamic Studies, European Studies Center, the Global Studies Center, and the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs.

We also work closely on outreach programs with a number of different units affiliated with the University Center for International Studies, including: the Center for International Legal Education, the Institute for International Studies in Education, the Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies, and the World History Center.

Other outreach and professional development opportunities also arise regularly from our collaborations with a number of scholarly associations hosted by UCIS: the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies, the Comparative and International Education Society, the European Union Studies Association, and the Latin American Studies Association.
