From Academy Award-nominated director Richard E. Robbins, Girl Rising follows nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Peace Corps Regional Recruiter Ryan Stannard.

SCREENSHOT: ASIA and the Asian Studies Center present Hot Nights/Cold War, a primer on teaching the Cold War using film. We'll be examining films from Cambodia, North Korea, and Vietnam and discussing how to integrate film into the classroom. The event also includes a take-home PowerPoint curriculum component. "The Missing Picture," the first film of our three-part series, is an autobiographical documentary by Rithy Panh. The film recounts Panh's childhood in Cambodia during the brutal takeover by the Khmer Rouge.
The film will be screened at 4:00 pm followed by a discussion at 6:00 pm. A curriculum module will be provided at the close of the program. To register, click here.
