Join the Indian Nationality Room Committee for the 21st commemoration of India Independence Day. This year’s theme is the Music of India. The event will showcase an exciting array of music and dance performances from all corners of India. Enjoy connecting with members of the Indian community, great food, and wonderful music and fun.
Join us on Tuesday June 20, 2023, 4pm-8pm in Schenley Plaza in Oakland for the return of Pittsburgh’s World Refugee Day and Immigrant Heritage Month Celebration!
The event will feature performances, speakers, music and dancing. Support local refugee and immigrant owned restaurants and craft vendors. Engage with a variety of community organizations to learn about services in our city. We’re excited to celebrate together!

Instructors and students from the Less-Commonly-Taught Languages Center (LCTL) and Pitt's many language departments will teach you how to order in Swahili, German, Modern & Ancient Greek, Quechua, Hebrew, Irish, Chinese, Persian, Turkish, Arabic, Ukrainian, English, and many more of the nearly 30 languages offered at Pitt. Then, you can place your order at the Language Coffeehouse and enjoy free drinks and snacks from around the world.

Join the Indian Nationality Room Committee at the University of Pittsburgh as they present a celebration of India's Republic Day with an afternoon of food, dance performance, and short film that highlight Indian culture. Free event; food will be available for a nominal fee. Space is limited to 150 so please register if you wish to attend. In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled, and registrants will be notified of cancellation.

During the Silent Film Era in Korea, movie screenings were accompanied by live music and narrators called "byeonsa." Korean Film Archive and director Tae-yong Kim have restored this theatrical experience with live musical accompaniment. This special screening of Crossroads of Youth invites you to experience the film just as Korean audiences did when it was premiered in 1934. For more information about this event, click here.
