Join the Japanese Student Association at their annual Bunkasai cultural festival on Saturday, October 26th from 11am-2pm in the WPU Assembly Room. Food, art, dance, performances, and other activities will all be present.
Please join us for an afternoon of activities celebrating the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings. Enjoy chai with Pittsburgh organizations at 2:00 pm, followed by interfaith presentations, cultural performances, and student readings about "Truth, Peace, and Action: Mahatma Gandhi's Legacy at 150" with chief Guest India Consul General Sandeep Chakravorty. India's Consul General Chakravorty will present the bronze bust of Mahatma Gandhi to AHINSA, to be installed in the Hillman Library on University of Pittsburgh's campus.

The launch for the Year of Creativity. UCIS centers will each have one hour to showcase teas from various world regions.
The Indian Room Committee will hold a community wide celebration beginning at 10:45 a.m. with a procession of celebrants singing and dancing around the Cathedral of Learning. Within the Commons Room, at 12pm, there will be a hoisting of flags and introduction of notables, including County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and invited speakers. The event will conclude with performances of traditional Indian dances and a bountiful feast of delicious food. It is then followed by kite flying at the Cathedral lawn. Admission is free.
Elizabeth Brown will give a repeat performance of Tipp's new work "Pale Blue Dot"; the concert will feature works by Pitt composers Jason Belcher, Laura Schwartz, Marco Guisto, Emerson Voss and Karen Brown.

University of Pittsburgh Gamelan performs Sudanese Gamelan Degung and the PA premiere of Elizabeth Brown's "Cloudrest" for gamelan and shakuhachi. Shakuhachi will be performed by Devon Osamu Tipp.
Showcase featuring music, films, artwork, and literature created in collaboration with the Astrophysics and Cosmology Department at Pitt.
