The Ford Institute for Human Security is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the launch of a new research program focused on online violence against women in politics. The Keynote is by Kristina Wilfore, the co-founder of #ShePersisted, focusing on curtailing gendered discrimination: Women's Political Leadership in an Era of Social Media. Following this will be a panel with Dhanaraj Thakur, research director for the Center of Democracy and Technology, alongside Erdem Yörük, director for the Center for Computational Social Sciences with Koç University.

Through experiential learning, high school students engage directly with global issues by assuming the role of world leaders and negotiating responses to timely topics.

The Alliance for Learning in World History is accepting applications for a Workshop for Educators to be held during the World History Association’s Annual Conference at the University of Pittsburgh. The two-day professional development workshop is sponsored by the Alliance for Learning in World History (ALWH) and the World History Center at the University of Pittsburgh. The Alliance will cover the conference registration fee, the cost of joining the WHA, and apartment-style dorm housing on the University of Pittsburgh campus for two nights.

The Latinx Connect conference (October 27-29) aims to move us beyond “celebrating” Latinxs, instead calling for empowerment and justice for the Latinx community, which faces numerous disparities in U.S. society, particularly those at the intersections of Latinx identity (e.g., Afro-Latinxs, Indigenous Latinxs, queer and Trans* Latinxs, undocumented Latinxs).
