Dear CLAS Community,

As you have likely heard, Chancellor Gallagher shared guidelines to follow as Pitt responds to the risk and potential impacts of COVID-19 in the most effective and rational manner possible. A key takeaway is the how important social distancing may be as a preventative measure.

In line with good practices, CLAS has taken steps to re-program all Spring and Summer events including more than 10 people. This includes our Film Series, the LASPP Conference and our signature annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival, all postponed until the Fall.

On the other hand, we are working to develop remotely available events, such as the Latin America Update, in order to allow the CLAS community to pursue our mission to the extent that technology and possibilities allow us to.

Please stay tuned as we work, in short order, to propose opportunities for you to engage with CLAS in virtual settings, and as we speed up our timeline for making more digital resources available to you.

Take care,
Manuel
