Through this program, you will work on a team to complete deliverables that will advance the goals and work of a non-profit organization based in Bolivia, Puerto Rico, or Trinidad. You can visit each program page to learn more about the client. This program is a very valuable way to spend spring break, given that you will utilize your time to help advance the goals and sustainability of your client as you also gain experience in consulting and non-profit management. Through GSL, you will gain critical transferable skills and global competencies that will help you stand out from your peers. Additionally, if you go to Bolivia or Puerto Rico, you will have ample opportunity to utilize Spanish skills.
The class for this program takes place throughout the spring semester right here on Pitt’s campus and includes spring break travel to Bolivia, Puerto Rico, or Trinidad. The class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-1:45 pm throughout the spring term. All flights, meals in country, international health insurance, and more are included in the program fee. All participants will receive an automatic $2,800 scholarship to offset the cost of the program.
