International Toolkit: CIA Site Visit

March 15th from 5:00-6:00pm

Location: 4217 Posvar 

The Central Intelligence Agency invites University of Pittsburgh Asian Studies Center students to an hour long Information Session. Two CIA officers will provide information about the mission of Agency and how the organization performs that mission around the world. They will discuss student internship and career opportunities and the application process, specifically highlighting the Directorate of Operations and the Directorate of Analysis. They will also focus on the advantages of bringing an academic background/experience in Asian Studies/Regional Affairs/Foreign Languages into the ranks of the Agency. There will be ample opportunity for Q&A and hard copy resumes will be accepted.

Queremos invitarlos/as a ser parte de la 2da. cohorte del Curso de Posgrado Cultura y Ciudades: políticas culturales para la transformación urbana. 

Este posgrado se plantea como un espacio de reflexión colectiva que busca iluminar aquello que dejamos de ver porque lo hemos naturalizado. Tenemos un mundo y nos conformamos con un mundito, donde la felicidad entre pocos ya dio sobradas pruebas que no funciona. 

Tratando de encontrar maneras, generamos este ámbito de formación que invita a la reflexión y al análisis crítico de las políticas culturales como estrategia de desarrollo para los espacios urbanos. 

 

Será en formato virtual de mayo a noviembre y tendremos mensualmente:

- 2 clases escritas por diferentes especialistas con recursos para profundizar en la temática propuesta.

- 1 taller sincrónico (en vivo) donde se analizarán casos y habrá propuestas para poner en juego los conocimientos compartidos en las clases escritas.

- 1 Conversatorio/ entrevista (en vivo) con un referente del campo nacional o internacional seleccionado/a a partir de la temática abordada ese mes.

Daremos mucho espacio para conversar, las conversaciones son nuestra manera de poner a rodar el pensamiento. Habrá un espacio de "café" que tendrá tanta importancia como las instancias anteriormente descriptas.
