Grannies Respond - Abuelas Responden
Grannies Respond is a national organization that hosts a network of cities around the U.S. where asylum-seekers are traveling through Bus Stations en route to their sponsored families.  Because Pittsburgh did not have such a program, we are creating a "stop".

We are looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers to meet buses that come in daily.  Volunteers can help as much or as little as they like - on a schedule or "as needed".  We often get advance notice of who's coming and what their needs are.  Mostly we are a friendly presence, help them understand their tickets, give out supplies such as snacks, drink, diapers, toiletries, etc. and make sure they're safely on their way to their next stop.

We require a 1-hour training and 2 observations at the Greyhound Bus Terminal with experienced volunteers.
