European Grants for Faculty Research on Europe

The European Studies Center offers full-time EUCE/ESC affiliated faculty an opportunity to apply for a grant for research on Western Europe not focused on the European Union. The European Grant Competition will award grants for research-related activities to be carried out during the academic year, although the end date of the activity is negotiable.

The Center supports research projects on Europe with awards ranging from $500 to $1,500. Awards are intended to supplement other research funds. Preference will be given to projects for which funding is also being sought from external sources. For activities or disciplines for which external funding is not available or very scarce, the Center expects applicants to also request funding from the department or another office/center at the University of Pittsburgh.

Under requirements of the University Center for International Studies, all applicants must gain IRB clearance or exemption before awards may be given.
