The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty.With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has worked to support the passage of numerous bills that have benefitted close to 500 million people in developing countries.

 

The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nation on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The 501 (c) (3) nonprofit is an innovative, national campaign that is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. foreign policy. Trademarks: The Borgen Project is known for being tech savvy, nonpartisan, secular and having access to congressional leaders on a national level. The Borgen Project also meets with representatives from G8 nations. How The Borgen Project operates: • Advocate: We meet with U.S. leaders to secure their support for crucial poverty reduction legislation. • Mobilize: We mobilize people across the globe behind efforts to make poverty a political priority. • Educate: We teach basic advocacy skills that empower citizens to communicate with their government. • Issue Messaging: We build awareness of global issues and innovations in poverty-reduction. 

 

The Borgen Project operates at the political level, holding Congress accountable for extreme poverty. Unlike most NGO’s, The Borgen Project doesn’t provide direct aid, but functions as a lobbyist for the world’s poor. The organization pressures members of Congress to support legislation that impacts millions of people.
