Partners in Health

Partners in Health is based around the belief that health is a fundamental right, not a privilege. They partner with poor communities to combat disease and poverty through a comprehensive and community-based approach to tackle the complicated issues surrounding infections diseases. The fundamental principles of PIH are: access to primary health care, free health care and education for the poor, community partnerships, addressing basic social and economic needs, and serving the poor through the public sector. Through these principles, PIH strives to care for patients, to alleviate the root causes of disease in their communities, and to share lessons learned around the world.
