Faculty Advisory Board

The Global Studies Center (GSC) at the University of Pittsburgh is guided by a distinguished Faculty Advisory Board comprising esteemed colleagues from various disciplines. This board plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the GSC continues to innovate and impact the University community by strengthening internal programs and fostering the exchange of ideas and research through a robust network of scholars.

The Faculty Advisory Board comprises distinguished colleagues from the  Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences (including Religious Studies, History, Anthropology, Political Science, History of Art & Architecture, and Economics); the School of Computing and Information; the Schools of Education, Nursing, and Social Work; the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs; and the Department of Behavioral & Community Health Sciences. The Board’s membership rotates every other year, ensuring a diverse range of expertise and perspectives.

Faculty contributions play a vital role in ensuring the GSC remains a dynamic hub for innovation, collaboration, and academic exchange. The Board provides strategic guidance to advance our mission locally and globally while fostering interdisciplinary connections. Members actively promote our programs, encourage student engagement, and support the vision of an internationally recognized resource center. Through curricular initiatives, events, outreach, and faculty funding opportunities, we strengthen partnerships and cultivate a diverse academic network across affiliated schools and departments.
