CLAS@Pitt Monthly Calendar/May 2022

CLAS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

As spring finds its way to summer, and life’s exuberance is ever more evident with the change in weather and lengthening days, we can say that another successful academic year has been celebrated with graduation ceremonies all over campus at Pitt. The Center for Latin American Studies held its own festivities in the Posvar Suite to revel in our own students’ accomplishments, where we were able to spend time with their family and loved ones, and gush about how proud we are to have been part of their Pitt experience.

Though we always find reasons to have a party, graduation is unlike any other – students are the reason the Center exists. CLAS fosters a welcoming atmosphere, and a challenging and supportive academic environment where faculty and community enhance our students’ experience and academic growth, making all achievement fulfilling and worthwhile. The current cohort has had to navigate challenges and restrictions that few other classes have faced, overcoming all with dignity and grace. Congratulations Class of 2022!

CLAS now enters a period of renewal, reflection and planning for the next few months. The Monthly Newsletter and Digest will appear less frequently until August, but the Team will be hard at work making sure that next year is as successful. We will also let you know of interesting opportunities and events as they arise. Stay tuned.
