COVID-19 Response: Learn how the European Studies Center is working under the current operational posture at

ESC offers an array of programs and opportunities for the personal growth and development of our undergraduate students at the University of Pittsburgh as well as other campuses in the region and across the nation. Undergraduates can enhance their educational experience while studying at Pitt through participation in an internship or research symposium or expand their knowledge outside the classroom through a summer study tour or hands-on simulation. 

Brussels Study Tour
Travel grants for undergraduates, K-12 educators, and faculty teaching at community colleges or minority serving institutions to participate in a weeklong summer study tour to Brussels, Belgium to learn about the EU and its institutions.

European Studies Center's Advanced Program in Education (ESCAPE)
Undergraduates with a possible interest in secondary social studies education can apply for a spring term course that provides hands-on classroom experience.

Undergraduate Model European Union
The Undergraduate Model European Union is an annual event that gives students a chance to learn about the workings of the European Union through preparation for and participation in a hands-on two-day simulation.

Undergraduate Research Symposium
An annual event designed to provide undergraduate students, from the University of Pittsburgh and other colleges and universities, with advanced research experiences and opportunities to develop presentation skills.
