Postdoctoral fellow with the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, and holds a PhD in Social History from the University of São Paulo. Her research and publications focus on the history of African women and their descendants, gender, reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, motherhood and medicine in slavery, and domestic work in the post-abolition period.
