NCTA alumni are eligible for a variety of summer experiences across the United States and in East Asia sponsored by both the University of Pittsburgh coordinating site and the national NCTA. Summer Institutes typically occur during the summer and NCTA works hard to make them educational and rewarding experiences for educators.

2027 NCTA Japan-Hokkaido: History, Culture, and Ecology Summer Institute

In summer 2027, Pitt's NCTA will venture with a group of NCTA Alumni Educators to uncover the often unseen history and culture of Japan's northernmost island, Hokkaido. Take this rare opportunity to learn about the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, as well as the island’s unique volcanic geology and ecology.
